Before: the original kitchen had nice cabinets although the layout was awkward. The refrigerator and the pantry were so close that the doors were in conflict. The wall between the family room and the kitchen meant that the cook could not participate in the family activities. The small pass through did not provide enough bar space for comfortable entertaining.
The Luxury Home Solution:
- Remove the walls between the family room and kitchen and the pantry walls in the middle of the kitchen.
- New cabinets – Kraftmaid in Peppercorn and GE Profile appliances
- The new backsplash in travertine and Neptuno Bordeaux countertop are also more in line with the rest of the décor.
- With the removal of the wall, we were able to move the location of the dishwasher and sink slightly over, giving us more room in the center of the kitchen.
- The addition of the pendant lights add needed illumination to the once dark room.
