Remodeling Seminar at Miromar Design Center

Luxury Home Solutions partnered with Kira Krumm Interior Design to offer advice on home remodeling at the Miromar Design Center on Saturday, June 11.  Chris Hall, Vice President of LHS, joined Kira Krumm in an hour-long presentation to about 100 guests on the essentials of embarking on a remodeling project, from initial consultation to final payment and ultimate customer satisfaction.  

Using years of experience in their respective trades of design and construction, Kira and Chris helped to increase awareness about the remodeling industry, recommending ways to gain knowledge about the professionals who work in the trades and how to determine who to hire, in order for homeowners to successfully improve their Southwest Florida investment.

Kira outlined the importance of determining scope and budget at the onset of any project.  She also spoke of the necessity of choosing the right team, which includes the designers and contractors who can help guide you through the entire process, giving you a clear plan for the completion of your project.  Chris then offered ideas for determining the best contractor for the job.  Most significantly, one should find a contractor that is licensed and insured. He advised attendees to ask for references and to check them. Many local associations require background checks, and a contractor’s membership will help to assure that you are choosing a quality business to trust with your project.

In an attempt to eliminate the fear that many homeowners have when beginning a remodeling project, both Kira and Chris stressed the importance of communication.  Many homeowners seek direct involvement in the project and so should maintain open communication with all those involved during every step of the process. Others opt for a more hands-off approach and should feel comfortable with the designers and contractors hired to know exactly what is envisioned for their home.

Following the seminar, Luxury Home Solutions invited guests to a buffet lunch and wine reception in the first floor showroom of Walker Zanger where Robbie Wise was selected as the lucky raffle winner.  She received a lovely gift basket filled with Luxury Home Solution goodies, a selection of Hall Wines, and housewares.
